What is Iodine?
Iodine is an essential trace element necessary for thyroid and metabolism health. A whopping sixty percent of iodine is stored in the thyroid gland.
Iodine and metabolism are closely related. In fact, many thyroid issues are linked to iodine deficiencies.
The thyroid is what controls your metabolism and how you use calories.
It does so by releasing hormones into the body that impact your basal metabolic rate.
Iodine helps create triiodothyronine and thyroxine, known more as T3 and T4, respectively.
