Guacamole Recipe and Delish Dishes to Tantalize your Taste Buds
Holy moly, guacamole. How I love thee! Thine shapely avocado curves, thine sweet innocence with a bite. Thine tender, juicy, oh so succulent spiced delight.
*puts down bowl of guacamole and blushes*
Oh, wow….hello there. That wasn’t awkward at all.
We’re not obsessed or anything with guacamole, OK? We just have the BEST recipe to make it along with the BEST dishes to create (besides just a guacamole dip).
Because variety is the spice of life, right?
So, let’s make it first. You’ll need:
- 3 avocados
- 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/4 cup finely minced onion (finely chopped)
- 1 large tomato (plum or roma), deseeded and diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro leaves and tender stems, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
- 1 to 2 teaspoons minced jalapeño, optional

Tips on ingredients: Get ripe avocados. They’re like bananas. They suck unless they’re ripe. You can tell by slightly squeezing them. They’re slightly ‘soft’ when squeezed. In other words, it shouldn’t feel like a rock when you squeeze it. Keep em’ at room temp, too until you’re ready to make your delectable dip.
Guacamole Mix Directions:
While the quick way is just ‘toss the ingredients together and enjoy” here are some guacamole game changers when mixing:
Keep it Chunky, Champ
No one said “Guacamole babyfood sounds good” so why get your guac pureed af? No, take it easy. Gently mash with a spoon or fork so you leave chunks of avocado in there. Oh, there’s nothing better than getting that avocado chunk in your dip. It’s like getting that cookie dough chunk in cookie dough ice cream, not that we eat that stuff *glances to the side and avoids eye contact*
Deseed Your Mater
You know why they invented seedless watermelon? Because it sucks to chew on seeds when you’re feasting your face with some phenomenal food. So, if you’re not a person who preps her own meals often, remember to deseed those bad boys. Otherwise, your friends might talk some smack about your seedy guacamole.
Dilute the Onions
Onions can add some serious flavor to a dish. But raw onions have a bite that is unforgiving. After dicing them, throw them into a bowl of water for 5 minutes or so.
Now, you’ve completed the tips above and made the WORLD’S BEST GUACAMOLE EVER
What can you chuck it in besides a bowl?
Oooooh, we know, we know, pick us!
Gourmet Guacamole Dishes
Do you like Green Guac and Ham? Would you like them here or there, would you like them anywhere?
No. No we aren’t throwing ham in the mix. But some sammies and soup sounds good, doesn’t it? Makes my mouf water.
*drools as eyes go to back of head*
This is easy, get two cups of chick broth or water, depending on whether you’re a veggie head or meat muncher, and heat it up. You CAN go ahead and puree your guac at this point if you want, but we still prefer the chunk. Heat and eat.
Guacamole Toast in the Mornin’
Mmmm can you imagine the chunks of guac mixed with the chewy delight of toast? Throw your guac on your preferred bread choice. Pair with a hard-boiled egg to fill you up.
Now, you can throw guacamole in the place of your condiments, or you can just toss it between two pieces of bread or a bagel and enjoy. Like egg salad but better.
Speaking of substitution…
If you pureed some of your guac for your soup, keep some for a dressing.
Ok, they’re called deviled eggs, but we like to call these heavenly half-bowls of paradise “Angeled Eggs” ….get it? Anyway, instead of the regular mix, put guac in yo eggs and enjoy.
You had me at Pizza. Put this bad boy on some cauliflower crust or, if you’re not watching your carbs, regular pizza crust, and enjoy. Like seriously, ENNNJOOOOY.
Yes, yes, put some guacamole into a wonton wrap. Pop it in your mouth and please your palette.
Traditional Guacamole Dip with a Twist
Don’t think you have to dip carb loading chips into your dip. If you’re a traditional lover of guac, get creative and try celery, carrot sticks, veggie patties, popsicles, pita chips or ANYTHING you like—and dip away.
Did you catch the whole random popsicle we threw in there?
Don’t do that. That’s weird. What’s not weird is our final recommendation.
Grilled Guac & Cheese
OK, we’re just gonna end with this. Bread + Cheese + Guac: Grilled = HEAVEN.
