What is the Body Reset Diet?

So how does it work?
The Body Reset Diet basics
If you’re not a fan of liquid diets—even in the short-term, this plan probably isn’t for you. The Body Reset Diet aims to get most of your nutrition by consuming smoothies for 15 days.
During the course of 15 days, you re-introduce food back into your diet. Celebrity Fitness trainer and creator Harley Pasternak claims this method resets the body’s metabolism, and you’ll be able to lose weight and keep it off.
The science claim? That using plant-derived calories in the form of smoothies, your body will have no choice but to ‘relearn’ how to burn calories faster and use energy more powerfully.
How Does Body Reset Diet work?
The Body Reset Diet has 3 phases broken down into 5 days.
There are three smoothies: White, Red and Green.
White is made with milk or yogurt.
Red is made with fruits.
Green is made with, you guessed it, veggies.
Phase 1
Drink ONLY smoothies for meals. White for breakfast, Red for Lunch, White for Dinner.
For snacks, you can have 2 ‘crunchy’ snacks around 100-200 calories and outlined in the guide.
Phase 2
You can have two smoothies and one ‘real’ meal.
Phase 3
Replace one more smoothie with a ’real’ meal.
Pasternak also recommends walking 10K steps and resistance training 3x per week.
Will I Lose Weight on the Body Reset Diet?
While there is no clinical backing to the claims or the diet, you’ll likely lose weight simply because for two weeks you’re drinking your meals, and they’re healthy. As you phase out, you’re still eating fewer calories while moving more.
The cons?
- The first phase will be the hardest, if you can make it, you might complete it. However, keep in mind, phase II isn’t that much easier.
